“There can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to helping others without expecting anything in return.” Nelson Mandela

If i am inspired then it is truly because of many but mainly because of one. He in my time of growing up was a cause i really was inspired to fight for. Not by raising arms but by using my voice. Change in life can only be made thru peaceful and positive action.

As a child born in the late 60’s and realized that I’m a child of the 80’s; only for my musical upbringing, I had the pleasure that we weren’t scared to take on the unknown, today’s younger generation is living with a technology we could dream off in the 80’s.  Anyway, I digress…

BIO: Where Javed’s schooling aptitude failed to reach the dithering heights… He became more interested in music, being a DJ for one, founded ‘JMC Discos’ – a band of three guys doing gigs in Dundee and surrounding areas, while at college studying Electronics and working in the family retail business.  Javed moved to Glasgow and continued working and studying which led to being ‘Founding Director of Radio Awaz’ (in 1996 – first came on-air in September 1997 as an RSL for 28 days). Javed’s employment took him from IBM to Honeywell and finally into the third sector working for Awaz FM, WSREC, VAF etc. Javed’s other commitments include being a council member for Community Media Association, on the steering group of the Scottish Community Broadcasting Network and involved in setting up Community Radio projects (Cumbernauld FM and Paisley FM). Javed’s passion is to bring local communities their own local community radio stations.  “every community deserves a voice to challenge the preconceived status quo of local government and commercial giants while standing up for local issues and local countryside” – Javed
